Mothers Over Murder: Moms stand together against violence
Clemmie Greenlee her only child to violence in 2003. “There was not any help, any support…I was left alone to either go into depression or turn that into some power. I said to myself then that I would not allow another mother to go through this feeling by herself.” She founded Mothers Over Murder (MOM), a grieving and activism group where mothers who have lost children to violence come together to support each other and demand change. Clemmie started off holding meetings at her kitchen table, but the group quickly expanded in membership. “We say that it is a grieving club that no one wants to be a part of.”
