If you were shocked by this baby news, you weren't the only one! After Derek's funeral, Meredith left Seattle with Zola and Bailey and didn't let anyone know where she was going. Meredith's friends spent months trying to locate her with no luck. It wasn't until Meredith gave birth to baby Ellis that Alex saw his friend again. Soon after, Meredith returned home with her children to face her new life. "All I have to do," she said on her first day back at work, "is begin."
