During their speech, they thanked their international team and audience, speaking to those in South Africa staying up to watch the awards.They said that they hope the documentary "Provides a glimpse of a different relationship between human beings and the natural world." Also stating, "If a man can form a relationship with an octopus, it does make you wonder what else is possible." Film Synopsis
While swimming in the waters of the Great African Sea Forest, filmmaker and conservationist Craig Foster meets an unlikely teacher: a young octopus. After visiting her den every day for months, he eventually wins the animal's trust, and as she shares the secrets of her world, Foster undergoes a transformation.
