Bethany Mota: Road to the DWTS Fall 2014 Finale
Bethany Mota has over 7 million subscribers to her YouTube channel, and her videos have accumulated over 500 million views. (No, that's not a typo.) She's no stranger to having all eyes on her. But can she dance? The answer has been a resounding Yes. This 19-year old has flourished on Dancing with the Stars as she and her partner Derek Hough have come back week after week through soreness and creative blocks to score high and earn their place in the finals. Here are some of the highlights of Bethany's journey.
Bethany was nursing an ankle injury early in the competition, but did that slow her down? Not one bit. She stuck it out and earned a 33 out of 40 for this Foxtrot in Week 2.
That sore ankle was little more than a fading memory once Bethany and Derek tackled this "Singin' In the Rain" Jazz routine in Week 3. The judges liked it, and they liked it a lot -- Bethany and Derek took home a perfect 40 out of 40.
It wasn't quite perfect, but Bethany's Tango in Week 6 was pretty close, scoring straight 9s from the judges despite a tiny slip-up in the footwork.
They came back in Week 7 with a fast and furious Paso Doble that earned them a 39 out of 40. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called it "flawless."
The following week they changed gears from high drama to high camp with an "I Love Lucy" themed Salsa. No 'splaining to do for a 37 out of 40.
If it wasn't already clear Bethany has what it takes to win the Mirrorball Trophy, she put a nice little punctuation mark on her season thus far in the Dancing with the Stars Fall 2014 Semi-Finals with a Contemporary routine that earned her another perfect 40 out of 40.
