DWTS 2016 Recap: Ginger, Nyle, Paige Advance to Finals, Wanya Earns Perfect Score
The remaining Dancing with the Stars 2016 cast battled it out in the Week 9 Season 22 semifinals, which featured a shocking double elimination! Each couple performed two dances—one being a style the couple had not danced to yet, and the second being a Trio Dance, in which each celebrity couple teamed with a third dancer. Which stars shined bright enough to dance their way into the finals. Let’s find out right here, right now with this Dancing with the Stars recap in The Glitter Report and see the highlights of the night with Dancing with the Stars Double Dips!
The Perfect Exit: Even though Wanya Morris was one of two stars eliminated from the competition, he still managed to go out with a bang with two perfect scores. For their trio dance, Wanya Morris & Lindsay Arnold teamed with Witney Carson for a Paso. Len gave him a standing ovation. For their solo routine, Wanya and Lindsay did the Charleston to “Shame on Me” by Avicii. The energy was high and the crowd went wild. See why!
Turn the Paige: For their trio dance, Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas teamed with Alan Bersten for a Samba. There were lots a peacock feathers in the air for this hot, wild dance. Of course, the real fun came when Alan and Paige shuffled uncomfortably when asked if there’s any chance of romance between them! After her solo routine, Bruno said he would judge in speedos if Paige doesn’t make it to the finals. Fortunately, these two dances helped spare the world from this fate.
Blind Ambition: For their solo dance, Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd did the Argentine Tango. As extra challenge, Nyle was blindfolded during part of the routine. Len declares that Nyle never ceases to amaze him. Bruno was mesmerized by the dance. Carrie Ann says his fearlessness inspires her to her deepest core. See what she means.
Desert Swarm: For their trio dance, Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy teamed with Artem Chigvintsev to do the Paso. Leafless trees filled the floor for this intense, atmospheric dance. Bruno felt it was one of the most intense pasos they’ve ever seen. Her Quickstep with an onstage assist from Leona Lewis was pretty darn good, too!
Antonio’s Best Dance: For their solo routine, a shirtless Antonio Brown took to the dance floor surrounded by images of him on the football field. Bruno called him a magnificent beast and praised his connection with Sharna. Len said the dance had some of the most spectacular lifts he’s ever seen on the show. See the dance that got Antonio his first and last 10 of the season.
