Modern Family Spoilers: Phil Attempts to Redeem Himself

Here’s the Modern Family Recap of Season 7, Episode 14 “The Storm” (Original Air Date February 24th 2015). A huge thunder storm brings wide power outages and the whole family congregates at Jay and Gloria’s to use their generator, but Jay has one foot out the door desperately trying to make it to a reunion with some old Navy buddies. Meanwhile, Phil tries to be the hero and redeem himself after a very embarrassing public panic attack earlier, but only causes more headaches for everyone. Mitch and Cam grasp at straws trying to salvage Lily’s birthday party where the most popular girl at school is in attendance, and Haley turns up the seduction efforts with Andy.

Andy Wants to Slow Things Down With Haley
Haley tries to get their relationship back on track after Andy (Guest Star Adam Devine) begins acting differently. Andy wants to slow things down to get to know Haley emotionally. Haley suspects it's something else that's causing a rift in their relationship.

 

Cam and Mitch Try to Impress Ashley
Cam and Mitchell try their best to throw Lily the best birthday party after the storm prevents them from traveling across town.  The most important guest of the party, Ashley, is very opinionated in what's cool and Lily's friends follow her like sheep.  After their princess party plans are deemed uncool, Cam and Mitch decide to throw a dance party for Lily with an emergency radio that can't seem to hold a charge.  By the end of the party, Lily has decided not to care what Ashley thinks and asks everyone at the party to join her in the pool.

 

 

Gloria Discovers Phil's Superpower
Nothing is going right for Phil.  He feels defeated after he's unable to be the hero during the storm. Gloria helps Phil realize that his real super power is helping people around him feel comfortable.  Phil puts it to full use when Jay needs someone to talk to about a fallen commerade.

 

Haley and Andy Find Romance
Haley can't figure out why Andy has been acting so awkwardly around her. After coming to a conclusion that he's still in love with his ex-fiance, Beth, Haley confronts Andy about why he still has her uniform. Andy tells Haley that he wants to slow things down in his relationship with her so they won't fizzle out.  Andy and Haley find their romantic moment out in the storm.
