DWTS 2019 Recap: Week 9 - Boy Band and Girl Group Night
With only six couples remaining, everyone was feeling the excitement as Dancing with the Stars 2019 celebrated boy bands and girl groups. Each celebrity and their pro dance partners would need to dance two separate routines, making it an even tougher week. To help regular judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba keep up with all of that dancing, NSYNC's Joey Fatone joined the panel as a special guest judge. So which of your favorite couples gave the judges what they want—what they really, really want—and who went bye bye bye? James Van Der Beek & Emma
James and his partner Emma Slater were coming off of their first perfect score last week, but they were facing a tough challenge kicking off the show with a Jive, their first of two dances. Len acknowledged how tough the challenge was, but said it was "good." Joey told James that he "makes it look easy," but Bruno wanted to see more pumping in the legs.

Sean Spicer & Jenna
Sean and his partner Jenna Johnson spent the week at the bottom of the leaderboard, so they knew it was time to turn it out this week. With the Argentine Tango for their first dance, Sean and Jenna thought a lift was just the thing to show the judges he's growing. The lift went fine, but it wasn't enough for the judges. Guest judge Joey Fatone pointed out that his frame and upper body were solid, but all of the judges agreed that his footwork was still lagging behind.

Sixth Elimination
With not one, but two dance performances done and scored, and America's votes counted, it was time to find out which couples would be in this week's bottom two. This week, Lauren & Gleb and, for the first time all season, Sean & Jenna found themselves facing elimination. Though it's never easy to eliminate anyone, Carrie Ann and Bruno both agreed to keep Lauren & Gleb in the competition, which meant it was Sean's final night in the ballroom.
