Let's take a look at the DWTS Results and Eliminations for Week 5 after checking out the evening's magical opening number with Alfonso Ribeiro and a few friends!
Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater did a Foxtrot to "Evermore" from Beauty and the Beast. Len felt the Beast turned into Prince Charming with this dance. Julianne dubbed the performance "timeless." Carrie Ann felt Rashad's movements looked a little constricted. Scores of 7-8-9-8 from the judges for a total of 32.
Nick Viall and Peta Murgatroyd did a Jazz routine to "I've Got No Strings" from Pinocchio. Julianne loved how much Nick committed to the dance. Bruno believed Nick was living and loving the moment. Carrie Ann called the dance a breakthrough for Nick. Len said that watching the dance actually made him feel better. Scores of 9-8-9-8 from the judges for a total of 34.
Erika Jayne and Gleb Savchenko did the Viennese Waltz to "Unforgettable" from Finding Dory. Bruno felt like he met the woman behind the mask in an honest performance. Carrie Ann noticed that all of Erika's lines were more elongated. Len liked the flow and movement of a terrific dance. Julianne loves how inspiring Erika is. Scores of 8-8-8-8 from the judges for a total of 32.
Heather Morris and Alan (subbing for the injured Maksim Chmerkovskiy) did a Jazz routine to "For the First Time in Forever" from Frozen. Carrie Ann thought Heather was adorable but felt the routine they did was a bit underwhelming. Len believed Heather brought out some real fun. Julianne stated that Heather completely embodied the character in an exceptional dance. Bruno loved the spins, whirls and jazz of it all. Scores of 8-8-9-9 from the judges for a total of 34.
Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess did the Tango to "When Can I See You Again?" from Wreck It Ralph. Len saw "a lot in-hold" which is what he wants in a Tango. Julianne saw Bonner come to life in this dance. Bruno noticed a few bumps and cracks which came about because he really tried to do the Tango properly. Carrie Ann loved the frame and posture when "in hold" but wants to see some more dynamic dancing from this team. Scores of 7-8-8-7 from the judges for a total of 30.
Normani Kordei and Valentin Chmerkovskiy did a Paso to "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Mulan. Donny Osmond was in the house singing the tune as the team performed the routine. Julianne said the dance showed every little girl that they can do whatever they want. Bruno was impressed at how Normani never lost artistry. Carrie Ann felt it was "epic" and "perfection." Len enjoyed the attack and the spirit that was shown. Scores of 10-9-10-10 from the judges for a total of 39.
David Ross and Lindsay Arnold did the Jive to "Ride" from the upcoming Cars 3. Bruno and Carrie Ann love how David always gets the show going, with the latter mentioning that he didn't miss a step. Len pointed out that David was a little flat-footed. Julianne agreed with that, but David's upper half looked great. Scores of 7-7-8-7 from the judges for a total of 29.
Nancy Kerrigan and Artem Chigvintsev did a Jazz routine to "That's How You Know" from Enchanted. Carrie Ann called Nancy the most princess-like of the night. Scores of 9-9-9-9 from the judges for a total of 36.
Simone Biles and Sasha Farber did a Contemporary routine to "How Far I'll Go" from Moana with a live assist from Auli'i Cravalho! Julianne said Simone showcased her gymnastic skills.
