The Bachelor 2019 Recap, Week 7: Who Gets a Hometown Date, and Who Goes Home?
Having your significant other meet your family is a huge step in any relationship, and that's exactly what awaits Bachelor Colton Underwood and whichever four bachelorettes he chooses this week on The Bachelor. That's right, whoever gets a rose gets to take Colton home to meet their family. For some people, having their new love meeting their family is their worst nightmare, but for these lucky ladies, it's love! The gang journeyed back stateside to Colton's hometown of Denver so Colton could show them where he came from, and one of the ladies met his family. Was it a dream come true—or a nightmare? You can watch The Bachelor season 23, episode 7 right here on ABC.com or in the ABC app, or read on for highlights and spoilers to find out who went home on The Bachelor!
Tayshia vs. Cassie and Caelynn
If you thought Week 7 was too late in the game for drama, well, you've probably never seen this show before. Welcome! It's fantastic. Anyway, Tayshia started things off with a bang on her 1-on-1 date, as she quickly named names when discussing who's still around for the Right Reasonstm:
Caelynn had the next 1-on-1 date, and she of course defended herself to Colton, telling him she's definitely ready for marriage—and with him, to boot. Colton now has a choice of who to believe, and he's not sure what to do about it:
Naturally, Caelynn was upset with Tayshia for spreading what she considered flat-out lies, and she confronted Tayshia about it:
Neither of the ladies seem like they're going to back down from their opinions on the matter, which of course should make things super easy for Colton going forward.
Hey, There Are Other Ladies Here Too
Apart from the drama, Colton had to sort out his feelings for the other ladies as well. Hannah B got the next 1-on-1, and this one was a doozy: A trip to Colton's house to meet his family. Reverse Hometown Date! Or just Hometown Date, really! Either way, that's exciting, right?
Well, it should have been. But Hannah B could tell that Colton was acting kinda off during their date, a little distant maybe. Then this happened:
On the bright side, Hannah...you have good instincts. Silver lining!
For the final group date, Cassie, Hannah G, Heather, and Kirpa were headed off on a train trip through the mountains, BUT ONLY TWO OF THEM WOULD RETURN. Actually, all of them would return safe and sound, because this is not a horror movie, but only two of them would get roses, and not getting a rose is the Bachelor equivalent of being the victim of the slasher in a horror movie. Every moment spent with Colton had to count. Heather started it off with a bang:
And just like that, she upped the odds of everyone's chances to get a rose on this date. But it was still a tough road to climb. Kirpa and Cassie got into it over Cassie's readiness, as Kirpa told Cassie that she wasn't here for the Right Reasonstm, and then Cassie was like, Am too, and then Kirpa was like, Nuh uh, and then Cassie was like, Yeah huh, and this went on for a good long while. Both of them pleaded their case with Colton, who again was faced with a She-Said-She-Said situation, which he totally loves so much, and I'm sure is not slowly eroding his psyche whatsoever.
At dinner, Colton immediately gave Hannah G a rose, sending her home even before even the appetizers arrived, it seemed. She was likely happy and relieved, but probably still hungry, so here's hoping someone gave her a cup of noodles or something. Then, as Kirpa and Cassie entered a showdown for the final rose, Caelynn showed up:
Did Caelynn change Colton's mind, or is that what he was thinking all along? Like the number of licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop, the world may never know.
And that's it. Next week, we'll travel to the hometowns of Caelynn, Cassie, Hannah G, and Tayshia, and we'll see whose parents approve of Colton. Don't miss The Bachelor, MONDAYS 8|7c on ABC!
