A Modern Family Holiday Shopping Gift Guide
'Tis the season for holiday shopping, and Modern Family has got you covered if you're stumped for gift-giving ideas. So while you're waiting in line at a Black Friday sale or fighting the crowds at the mall, take a break and make a shopping list (and check it twice) with some of these gift suggestions for the Gloria, Phil, Claire or other special people in your life.
FOR THE MUSIC LOVER:
A keyboard is a pitch-perfect gift for the musician in your life, whether they're a pro like Cam (Eric Stonestreet) or a beginner like Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) or even a child prodigy, like Lily's classmate. (From Season 6, Episode 3, "The Cold.")
A special song that was the soundtrack to a special life event can be the perfect, sentimental gift... unless you're Phil (Ty Burrell). Sometimes, a Carly Simon single can conjure up particularly intimate memories that redefine "guilty pleasure." (From Season 5, Episode 21, "Sleeper.")
If you're feeling extra creative, you could combine the gift ideas above and perform that special song accompanied by the keyboard. Who wouldn't love the gift of Mitch and Cam singing "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" by Elton John and Kiki Dee? (From Season 3, Episode 12, "Egg Drop.")
FOR THE GAME PLAYER:
Board games make great gifts for those who like to have fun with others. Although, that can sometimes backfire if you're like Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Jay (Ed O'Neill) and not great at deciphering or drawing Pictionary clues. (From Season 4, Episode 23, "Games People Play.")

FOR THE ART AFICIONADO
If you know someone who appreciates art and can go to the museum without feeling the need to study up beforehand (i.e. they're Alex), a membership to the local museum could be the ideal gift. (From Season 5, Episode 17, "Other People's Children.")
FOR A PERSONALIZED TOUCH
Go the extra mile with a more inspired gift that could come from only you, since not everyone's name can make the perfect pun with "pillowcase" or "dill pickle." (From Season 4, Episode 21, "Career Day.")
A handmade gift can also be a nice, personal gesture. The pink, ceramic bunny that Jay made for Gloria is a good example of one of those gestures. It's not a good example of a nice, handmade gift, but it's a really good example of a nice, personal gesture, at least.

FOR THE HOBBYIST
If you have a crafty person in your life, a DIY project such as a model building kit makes for a fun gift. Or, it could make for a crisis at ground control if you're Phil trying to rebuild an Apollo 13 model. (From Season 5, Episode 8, "Closet Con '13.")
FOR THE GADGET LOVER
If you have a techie or wannabe James Bond in your life, then a cutting-edge gadget is the item to set your sights on. Phil's drone camera is a cool gift for that 007 in your life, but just make sure your spy doesn't get caught red-handed because the umbrella hat accessory isn't something any self-respecting secret agent would want to be seen wearing. (From Season 5, Episode 14, "iSpy.)
