Week 6: A Pitbull Party
Pitbull was in the house! The stars were asked to dance to some his top hits and favorite tunes. With Erin Andrews off doing her World Series thing, former Dancing star Leah Remini pinch hit. There were jokes galore all night long. One of the biggest laughs came when Leah showed Val the lost art of storming out of a room. As always, the real fun of the night came in the form of some sparkling routines. So let’s get to the highlights below!
Together Again: Alfonso and Witney were reunited after two very different experiences apart. Switch-up week certainly took its toll on this team. Witney was especially crushed after the harsh scores she got when she teamed with Michael. Remember all those 5s? Well, no one else did after this fine salsa, which happens to be the booty-licious dance of the night.
Comeback Time: As mentioned above, Michael and Witney had a rough time last week. The judges tore into the race car star giving him a slew of 5s for his less-than-stellar performance. This week, Michael took Emma down to Talladega so she could see him in his element. After his race, it was tango time. Michael has gotten some pretty big laughs over the course of the season, but he got something else after his Argentine Tango. See what we mean:
Respect the Family: Mark didn’t want to be disrespectful to Sadie’s family values, but he also wanted to make sure they did a memorable rumba. Julianne said you don’t have to be raunchy to be hot. This was a dance that was stylish, sensual and a story about falling in love.
Music and Passion are (Almost) Always in Fashion: We already told you it was “Pitball Joins the Party Night” on Dancing. The guest judge found himself in the middle of a spirited debate early in the evening after there was some question about the degree of passion in Janel and Val’s fast-paced samba.
The Quotes Are In:
Bruno (to Jonathan after his jazz routine): “The man in black has got his mojo back.”
Pitbull (to Tommy) “You are the most interesting man in the world.”
Pitbull (to Artem after his dance with Lea): “I didn’t know Jean-Claude Van Damme could dance that good.”
Carrie Ann (to Michael after his Argentine Tango): “Okay. This was a very different approach. And it worked!”
Tom (to Alfonso after Carrie Ann gave him a spanking after his salsa): “This is gonna be taken out of context, but doesn’t that make your groin feel better.”
Just a Little Slip: The judges saw it, but it didn’t really matter for Bethany and Derek when it came to the final scores from the judges for their fine tango. Enjoy!
