The Bachelor Recap: Jade & Tanner's Wedding, Celebration of 20 Seasons of The Bachelor
Romance was definitely in the air as The Bachelor celebrated 20 Seasons of dream dates and rose ceremonies throughout the search for soulmates in The Bachelor At 20: A Celebration of Love. The very special episode featuring countdowns of best moments and check-ins with previous contestants culminated with the wedding of Bachelor in Paradise’s very own epic lovers Tanner Tolbert and Jade Roper. Here’s a recap of everything that went down.
More Than Friends?: Single Bachelor Nation alums Nick Viall, Jared Haibon, Sarah Herron, Ashley and Lauren Iaconetti, Juellia Kinney, JJ Lane, Michelle Money, and Ben Zorn all arrive at the nuptials. Ashley I. still isn’t over Jared and makes it known there is no better place than a wedding for the two of them to take their friendship to another level.
MIA Bachelors & Bachelorettes: As one could imagine it was hard to get all 20 Bachelors and 11 Bachelorettes there for the big celebration, but luckily viewers got a hello from a lot of the alums who couldn’t be in attendance, such as Doctor Travis Stork, Season 8 Bachelorette Emily Maynard and recently married Bachelorette couple Desiree and Chris.
Through the Years with The Bachelor: You can never redo a first impression. The Bachelor 20th celebration revisited the most memorable first meetings that turned into everlasting relationships, as well as several of the best things about 20 seasons of romance. This included the revealing dates where love bloomed – some of which led to heartbreak and others to beautiful proposals. Chris Harrison then revealed the top three “Most Dramatic,” “Biggest Scandals,” “Steamiest Hot Tubs,” “People We Love to Hate” and “Best Man-Cries” moments over 20 seasons, as well as the best bloopers in Bachelor history. Watch the must-see blooper reel below!
Where Are They Now?: As America prepared for the wedding of Jade and Tanner at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, Chris Harrison was on hand to catch up with memorable couples from seasons past. Trista and Ryan Sutter, Ashley and JP Rosenbaum and their son, Fordham, Sean and Catherine Lowe, Jason and Molly Mesnick and Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth offered updates from the ceremony and hometowns on their lives and families. Harrison also checked in with Ben Higgins about how his journey to find love is progressing.
All You Need Is Love: Then it was finally time for the newest Bachelor Nation couple to get hitched. The ceremony, which took place January 24, began with Harrison officiating, of course. Then after exchanging vows the two wrote themselves, the newly minted husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Tanner Tolbert, kiss. Matt Nathanson, a favorite singer of the couple, serenaded them at the ceremony in one of the most romantic moments of the night.
Time to Party!: Then, the celebration moved to the blow-out reception as viewers got a glimpse at the couple’s first dance and cake cutting and heard the well wishes from the other Bachelor Nation cast members. For one last huge surprise, smash British R&B/soul sensation Seal sang his hit song “Kiss from a Rose” for the couple’s first dance, making their first minutes together even more electric. Then from his new album, he sang “Every Time I’m With You,” inviting all the Bachelor alumni to the dance floor as a montage of past Bachelor weddings played.
Friends Till the End: It wouldn’t be a Bachelor night without a few tears and Ashley I. sheds more than a few when Jared doesn’t make a romantic move at the wedding.
