Modern Family Spoilers: Jay Destroys Gloria's Store Display
Here’s the Modern Family Recap of Season 7, Episode 13 “Thunk in the Trunk” (Original Air Date February 17th 2015). Now that Claire has been running the closet business for a while, she and Phil have fallen into a new rhythm, with Claire assuming the role of the wheeling and dealing breadwinner and Phil as the invisible housewife, but Phil will not stand for being ignored and underappreciated for long. Meanwhile, Jay lets his jealousy get the best of him when a life-size cutout of Gloria for her grocery store hot sauce display solicits all kinds of unsavory attention from men, so he enlists Manny as his accomplice in a poorly orchestrated heist. And, Cam and Mitch are being extra hospitable to get better reviews for their rental property, but when the new renters start acting undeniably suspicious, they can't help but snoop.
Gloria Wants to Catch the Suspect
Jay tries to calm down Gloria after she finds out her store display has been stolen. The same store display that is making noise in Jay's trunk. Jay distracts Gloria as Manny prevents the display from making noise. Gloria later finds out that Jay stole the display and loves how protective/jealous he became.
Mitchell Snoops on His Guests
Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) infiltrates his guests' room after Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) finds suspicious items in the trash. He breaks one of the figurines and asks Cam (Eric Stonestreet) to help create a distraction while he tries to put the figurine back in its original place. The plan turns into a complete disaster when Mitchell causes everything to break.
Phil Gives Claire a Pep Talk
Phil is tired of being the invisible spouse and wants to return his newest toy. Claire explains her recent behavior and freaks about all the stress that's been put on her. Phil calms her down and preps her for her next meeting.
