The First Perfecto: Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy did a Viennese Waltz to “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. The team looked quite dazzling as they took to the dance floor to turn in a beautiful performance that had the crowd cheering. Carrie Ann burst into tears halfway through the dance. Len said it had just the right amount of everything. Bruno said it was her best dance of the season. With scores of 10-10-10, Ginger Zee brings home the first perfect score of the season.
Perfecto Number Two: Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas did a Jive to “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner. Paige was rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on the dance floor in her lightning fast routine. Bruno thought the speed of the routine was insane. Carrie Ann thought it was ridiculous in a good way. Len felt it was all impressively under control. Scores of 10-10-10 gave this team the second perfect 30 of the season, and the night!
Wardrobe Malfunction?: Antonio Brown & Sharna Burgess did the Tango to “Paint it Black” by the Rolling Stones. From out of the shadows and from under a cloak and hood, Antonio took to a foggy dance floor with his partner for a truly atmospheric routine. Len said the dance had plenty of attitude and Bruno added that Antonio was truly going for it. Oh, and there was apparently a wardrobe malfunction, but Sharna took it all in stride
Team James Brown: The four remaining male stars teamed up to dance to a medley of James Brown songs including “Super Bad,” “Living in America,” and “I Got You (I Feel Good). Wanya had to play catch-up after missing some rehearsal time. Still, the team had to “feel good” after their performance. Bruno loved how each man’s personality blended together and Carrie Ann was impressed by the teamwork everyone showed throughout.
Team Beyonce: The four remaining female stars teamed up to dance a medley of Beyonce songs including “End of Time,” “If I Were a Boy,” and “Crazy in Love.” The ladies were just as entertaining as the men. Bruno loved the fact that they teased him, but they lost sync a couple of times. Carrie Ann felt they were all working their Sasha Fierce tonight and that they challenged themselves. Scores of 8-8-9 from the judges.
After the team dances, two teams were eliminated from the competition in the form of Kim & Sasha and Von & Witney. The remaining teams head back the rehearsal halls to train for the Week 8 Quarterfinals on Monday May 9 as America becomes the 4th judge.
