Who Won Dancing with the Stars 2016?

The entire Dancing with the Stars 2016 cast  returned to the ballroom for the epic 2-hour Dancing with the Stars Finale where the Dancing with the Stars winner was crowned when Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd beat out the other Dancing with the Stars finalists Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy and Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas to take home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. In one of the closest competitions in the history of the show, the top model won the ultimate battle of the ballroom. Let's take a look at the final results as well as the moment Nyle DiMarco was named Dancing with the Stars 2016 Champion!

Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd combined a Tango and the Cha Cha to “Summer” by Calvin Harris for their 24-hour fusion dance. Bruno called the dance glorious in every possible way. Carrie Ann didn’t speak. She signed. She thanked Nyle for showing us his beautiful heart when he danced. Her gesture brought Nyle to tears and the perfect 30 he got from the judges brought the crowd to a frenzy.

Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas combined a Jive and Salsa to “Little Bitty Pretty One” by Thurston Harris for their 24-hour fusion dance. Carrie Ann said it was a terrific way to end the season. It was another knockout performance that earned the team a perfect 30, which matches Mark’s age as the finale took place on his birthday!

Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy combined a Foxtrot and an Argentine Tango to “Just Like Fire” by Pink for their 24-hour fusion dance. The team continued their streak of solid, crowd-pleasing performances with a fun routine that got three 9s from the judges.

Jumping back to Part 1 of the 2016 Dancing with the Stars Finals, take a look at the redemption and freestyle dances performed by the three finalists along with their scores for the evening. Nyle DiMarco & Peta Murgatroyd did a Quickstep for their redemption dance earning scores of 9-9-9 from the judges. Nyle’s Freestyle was to inspire the deaf community and inspired the judges to give him three 10s. TOTAL: 57

Nyle DiMarco's Wild West Quickstep|Nyle and Peta get slightly out of sync.|Nyle DiMarco and his partner Peta Murgatroyd danced a Quickstep to Ray Chew's cover of "S.O.B." The judges felt the routine got a little out of sync at times. The pair scored a 27 out of 30 for the routine. From Week 10 of Season 22 of Dancing with the Stars.

 

Nyle DiMarco's Freestyle Transcends Dance|Nyle's Freestyle brings Bruno to tears.|Nyle DiMarco and his partner Peta Murgatroyd danced Freestyle to "The Sound of Silence" by Disturbed. The pair scored a perfect 30 out of 30 for the routine. From Week 10 of Season 22 of Dancing with the Stars.

Paige VanZant & Mark Ballas did a Salsa for their redemption dance that earned scores of 10-9-10. Paige went “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” for her Freestyle performance getting three 10s from the judges. TOTAL: 59

Ginger Zee & Valentin Chmerkovskiy did a Contemporary routine for her redemption dance earning scores of 9-10-9 from the judges. It was a lot of old-fashioned fun from Ginger and Val for their freestyle performance that earned 10-10-10 scores from the judges.

Ginger Zee's Comeback Contemporary|Injury doesn't prevent Ginger from dancing.|Despite combating a pelvic injury, Ginger Zee and her partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy danced Contemporary to Ray Chew's cover of "Adventure Of A Lifetime."
