The Bachelor 2017 Premiere Recap: Who Did Nick Send Home?

The wait is officially over! Nick Viall's The Bachelor 2017 journey has begun! After two stints on The Bachelorette and one on Bachelor in Paradisehe's hoping fourth time is the charm. On Monday's highly anticipated Season 21 premiere, the controversial fan favorite reflected on his past and finally got to meet the 30 lucky ladies vying for his heart. Will one of them be his one true love? There are still a lot of weeks to go and roses to be given out before we will find that out. See how things kicked off in this a recap of all the hot action and who went home on The Bachelor 2017 premiere.

Bachelorly Advice: Nick couldn't really start his journey without a little reflection into his past and a little advice from a few pros. A trio of popular former Bachelors – Sean Lowe, Chris Soules and Ben Higgins – stop by the Bachelor mansion to offer their support and encouragement to Nick, who will face all-new pressures and responsibilities due to his previous experiences on the show. Their words of wisdom calm him as limos start to arrive with women all eager to make a lasting first impression. Even though this isn't his first rodeo, Nick confesses to being nervous as he still remembers his jitters before stepping out of the car to meet Bachelorette Andi Dorfman for the first time many moons ago.

Memorable Arrivals: The Bachelor Season 21 contestants make their entrances in unique ways. Jasmine G., a professional dancer, confidently steps out of the limo with none other than famed jeweler Neil Lane and points out the engagement ring she prefers. Vanessa reveals her linguistic skills to impress and Alexis arrives in a dolphin costume (or is it a shark?). Others take a more of a gutsy approach when meeting the Bachelor. Jaimi, a chef, doesn't hesitate to show off her "balls," a.k.a. her versatile nose ring. Susannah offers Nick an interesting service - a beard massage. Josephine makes a memorable impression by splitting an uncooked hot dog with the Bachelor to prove he is a "weiner" in her book.

Seeing Red: A large number of the ladies decide to wear red to stand out from the pack including Rachel, a dynamic attorney, Brittany, a travel nurse, Angela, a model, Jasmine B., a flight attendant, and Josephine to name a few  – but it backfires, as those in other colors in turn become more prominent.

A One Night Stand Returns: Nick is then blindsided by the arrival of Liz, a doula, who he has a secret past with. The two met and slept together at Jade and Tanner's wedding earlier in the year but haven't spoken since. Nick doesn't let on right away he recognizes Liz, but the Bachelor hasn't forgotten about their tryst. What are her intentions? Could this secret derail his search for love?

The First Kiss: Once inside the mansion, the party really gets started, as the women compete to spark a special connection with the handsome Bachelor. A battle breaks out over which of the bachelorettes will land the first kiss. Although Nick tries his best to give all the women the attention they deserve, the women who haven't had any time with him begin to panic. Corinne is ultimately the one who makes a bold move by snagging the first kiss of the season.

The First Impression Rose: Despite Corinne's passionate kiss, Nick's instant chemistry with Rachel helps her capture the coveted first impression rose. Nick admits to being captivated by the lawyer and her aura right off the bat. That coupled with how easy it was to talk to her made the decision a no brainer.

Early Goodbyes: The stakes are high and as the evening winds down, it's time for the first rose ceremony. The journey is over for Olivia, Angela, Briana, Ida Marie, Jasmine B., Lauren, Michelle, and Susannah. Twenty-two lucky women will continue on the adventure to win Nick's heart.
