1953 - Audrey Hepburn won the Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in the 1953 film 'Roman Holiday.' Her acceptance speech was very concise: 'It's too much. I want to say thank you to everybody who in these past months and years have helped, guided and given me so much. I'm truly, truly grateful and terribly happy.' Hepburn was also honored with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 1992.
