The Glitter Report: Week 5 - Disney Night

The Glitter Report: Week 5 - Disney Night

It was the happiest ballroom on Earth for Disney Night on Dancing with the Stars. There were no Mickey Mouse routines this evening though. Former champ Donny Osmond was in the house as a guest judge as some simply fantastic Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dahncing took center stage on what can only be described as a magical night. Now, onto the highlights of the night for Week 5 of Season 18 of Dancing with the Stars!

An Incredibly Warm Frozen Moment: James was invited to the prom by a young girl with special needs. He couldn’t make it to the big dance, but he did the next best thing. James flew the young lady out to the ballroom so she could watch him do his dazzling routine to "Let it Go" from Frozen. See the moment James made a young girl’s dream come true followed by a performance that will melt your heart. It happened to be the dance of the night leading to the first perfecto of the season.

The Belle of the Ballroom: Bruno said Danica “tamed the beast” after she did one beauty of a quickstep while back in the arms of partner Val. Carrie Ann couldn’t help but give her a hug when the routine was done. She felt like she was getting her own personal Beauty and the Beast show. Be our guest and watch this clip.

A Cinderella Story: Amy had a rough rehearsal week. She broke down due to the frustrations that come with her unique situation. Of course, had we not been privy to what went on behind-the-scenes we never would have known anything was wrong. See for yourself.

Dude with a ‘Tude: No one has ever accused NeNe Leakes of not speaking her mind. She was certainly outspoken during another rough rehearsal. Was last week’s switch-up the instigator of the rift between NeNe and Tony? They say no. All couples go through ups and downs. Their Cruella De Vil-themed routine was the upside after this downer of a rehearsal moment.

The Quotes Are In:

Len (to Drew after his quickstep): “The performance had plenty of zip. The technique was very, very doo-dah.”

Tom (after Charlie’s jazz): “I like that slo-mo replay from the “salt in the wound” portion of the show.”

Bruno: (to Danica after her quickstep): “You tamed the beast!”

Carrie Ann (to Amy after her waltz): “I hope Disney will make their next princess like you.”

Bruno (to Cody after Donny panned his samba): “Listen to the good fairy.”

Len (after James’s contemporary): “That would melt the coldest heart. Even mine.”

Bruno (to Maks after his Jungle Book samba with Meryl): “Thank you, Maks, for the eyeful.”

Supercalifragilisticexpiali-dancious!: Drew Carey let a genie out of a bottle to help him with his Aladdin-themed routine. So we were half-waiting for some penguins to pop out during Charlie’s Mary Poppins performance. This fast-paced happy dance wowed the crowd and got the first 10 of the season from Len. It wasn’t enough to save Charlie from elimination, but it’s certainly worth a second look.

Highlights of the Night: Here’s a quick rundown of all the Disney-rific routines of the evening as the stars continue their quest for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy.
