Mistresses Recap: Season 3 Episode 7 "The Best Laid Plans"

Sneak Preview: The Best Laid Plans
Lucy is thrilled that her grandmother, Marjorie, is in town. As for April, she’s doing her best to keep a positive attitude. It’s not easy. She checks her mom’s bags for stashed booze but comes up empty. April spends a nice day with her mother and daughter. Things unravel when they get home once she learns Lucy lied about having a midterm exam so she could skip school with them.
April gets upset when Marjorie suggests Lucy come stay with her for a while. She can’t forgive her mother for driving drunk with her daughter years ago. A full-scale blowup fight ends when April kicks Marjorie out of her house. Lucy overheard the entire screaming match. She remembers the accident. Lucy embraces her mom telling her that she loves her. Later, Marc lets April know that he actually dug up some mini liquor bottles. April’s instincts were on the money.
Harry learns that Niko’s primary objective in sleeping with him was to rattle Ellis because he’s been taking her for granted lately. Mission accomplished. Niko is transferred to another restaurant. As for Harry, Marc advises him to brand himself so he doesn’t ever have to fear any corporate tyrants like Ellis Boone. First thing he needs is an agent.
After Harry meets with a high-powered agent named Ari, he makes plans to start teaching a cooking class. Marc helps him spin out this idea. Things get off to a rocky start, but Harry rallies and he even manages to impress Ari. The agent can see his passion for cooking. She takes Harry on as a client.
With Vivian out of town for a spell, the threesome is down to the twosome of just Karen and Alec. It’s an odd situation. Karen feels like she’s cheating on Vivian. She avoids one-on-one time with Alec. That doesn’t last. The two of them get to know each other better over a nice meal, but Alec then lies about being with Karen when Vivian calls. A short time later Karen and Alec have sex in a hospital on-call room. Afterwards, the question of whether or not to tell Vivian arises.
Luca threatens to expose Calista’s extramarital affair with her assistant, Wilson. Joss wants to help her friend. She offers to set a trap by serving as affair-bait to catch Calista’s hubby in the act of cheating. Luca is all over Joss. It’s supposed to be good news, but Calista is still hurt. Nevertheless, they move forward with their plan.
Joss lures Luca into the bedroom where he makes his move. Then she makes her move to get him on the bed so a hidden camera can record them. Joss is getting hot and heavy with Luca when she excuses herself to the bathroom. She texts Calista to see if she got the video footage they need. No answer. All power in the house goes out. Joss stumbles out of the bathroom into the darkness. She makes her way toward the front door only to find a bloodied, lifeless Luca at the bottom of the staircase.
