Mistresses Recap: Season 3 Episode 5 "Threesomes"
Welcome to Mistress Moments for the “Threesomes” episode of Mistresses, which originally aired July 9, 2015. Here you’ll find a recap, highlights and, yes, spoilers, so check out all the hottest happenings below.
April pays Headmaster Patterson, just call him Blair, a visit at work. He’s a little too busy to pay attention to her flirtation. So April crashes his yoga class. Actually, it’s a hot yoga class—as in the temperature in the room is way, way up there. Afterwards, an incredibly sweaty April asks Blair out on a date. Much to the amazement (and disappointment) of the other ladies in the class, Blair accepts.
Marc burns his hand when he sees how hot April looks before her date. He can’t help but stare at her longingly as she walks out the door. As for the date, a nervous April blurts out that her dead husband’s mistress’s son’s uncle lives with her. It’s such a cliché. April realizes she’s tanking. Marc advises over the phone to order a decadent dessert, but Blair asks for the check before she can do so.
Blair shows up at April’s place the next day. He has a beautiful bouquet of flowers with him. He knew how nervous April was on their date so he felt it was a good idea to hit the reset button. This is great news. April is thrilled that this guy actually likes her. A nice kiss is interrupted when Marc walks in.
CRASH! April drops a scrumptious platter of chicken salad sandwiches after Karen blurts that she had sex with Alec and Vivian. Then April blurts the news to Joss and Calista. Karen snuck out of the house before the married couple woke up. She also makes a hasty exit from her friends as she has a meeting with a priest about leading a group on keeping married couples together. During the session, she can’t help flashing back to her night with Alec and Vivian.
Vivian calls Karen. She admits that she and Alec had never done anything like that before. Dinner plans are made. Karen and Vivian are both surprised by the fact that Alec has invited his psychiatrist friend, Ken, to join them. As it turns out, four is a crowd. Vivian asks Ken to leave. Karen isn’t far behind him when things get uncomfortable after both ladies admit they felt something even though Alec can’t.
Karen later admits to Joss that she could be falling in love with both members of the married couple. She’s in the middle of another church marriage group session when Alec comes in. He wants to know if it’s worth the risk to go forward with something new to save a marriage that’s been damaged. Karen assures him that it is.
Calista is hesitant to sign the papers Luca left behind for his new business. She’s struggling with how complicated things are. She’s trying to make things work with Luca, so she can’t give in to her assistant Wilson’s advances as she’s done in the past.
Calista tries to convince Luca to go into therapy with her. He’s not interested in that, and he only becomes interested in her when she signs off on his jewelry line. What she doesn’t know is that Luca tricked her into giving himself the entire accessories line giving his own umbrella for the business.
Remember that apology text that Joss sent to Harry that Niko deleted? Well, that’s the primary focus of a brand new fight. Side subjects include the fact that Niko was naked with Harry during a photo shoot. All those issues fade away when Joss and Harry make plans to go on a real date.
Joss is taken aback by the news that Scott is getting engaged. Plans are made for her to return his ring. Joss fears her entire phone conversation was actually recorded on Harry’s voicemail. It wasn’t. Nevertheless, Joss tells the story of Scott’s quick engagement to someone else. Harry doesn’t really want to hear about it.
Joss learns that Scott is marrying an ex-girlfriend who he once said he didn’t love. She lets him know that what they had together was real. Scott seems to appreciate this. He hopes Harry is worth all that she’s done.
During their dinner date, Joss and Harry have a fairly combative conversation that ends when she storms out. Harry shows up later to say that they need to end things now before they hate each other forever. It was too soon for both of them. They just aren’t ready. With that realization, Harry kisses a teary Joss goodbye.
