Grey’s Anatomy Recap: Meet Callie's New Girlfriend

For all the highlights from the Season 12 episode "Old Time Rock and Roll," check out the official Grey's Anatomy recap! On last week's episode, "I Choose You," Maggie, upset after receiving an invitation to an ex-boyfriend's wedding, threw caution to the wind and started making out with one of the interns at the bar. This week kicks off with Maggie waking up and remembering that she and DeLuca had lots and lots of sex, and he's still in her bedroom! She wants him to sneak out without being seen by her roommates (or Meredith's kids!) but he runs into Amelia right outside Maggie's door. Luckily, Amelia is not one to judge. She is, however, one to gossip. She immediately spills the beans to Meredith and Karev in the carpool, and they grill Maggie about her one-night stand all the way to work. Keep reading for memorable moments from the October 15, 2015 episode, Grey's Anatomy Season 12, Episode 4, "Old Time Rock and Roll."

Meredith Hasn't Thought About Sex Since Derek

When Maggie questions what kind of person she is for hooking up with one of the interns, Meredith points out that the father of her children did the same thing! As she tells Maggie about her sexcapades with Derek, it hits her that she hasn't thought about sex since the day he died. She's a "widow," just like characters in books and movies. "You don't think that that happens, but it does! It's just, I'm closed for business. Vagina city is a ghost town. The orgasm train doesn't roll through here any more. That part of my life is over," she says. She tells Maggie she's happy, and she's not looking for anyone or anything else.

Meredith Teaches the Interns to Show Compassion

The hospital experiences a "silver flood," an influx of injured senior citizens, after an accident. When an intern, emotional over a patient's sudden death, badly flubs delivering the bad news to the man's son, Owen steps in. He decides it's time to teach the interns how to deliver bad news to patients' families. He tells them step by step how to inform the next of kin. When Meredith finds out that Owen taught them to, in a detached manner, use "the three Ls," she's irate. Clearly drawing on personal experience, Meredith gives a passionate speech to the new doctors. She wants them to understand the gravity, and the responsibility that comes with delivering that kind of news. They are changing a person's life forever, and that person will never forget them, or that moment.
