Mistresses Recap: Season 3 Episode 12 "Reasonable Doubt"

Sneak Preview: Reasonable Doubt
David lets Joss know that she’s been offered a plea deal if she admits to shooting Luca. That’s not going to happen. Of course, that means she could get 20 years-to-life if found guilty. Calista gets a firsthand look at how much she hurt Joss when her request to talk to her is firmly dismissed. Time for Plan B. Calista starts a fight which gets her and Joss locked up in nearby private cells.
Joss unleashes all the angry feelings she has been harboring. Calista tries to explain that she really did love her. It’s a heartfelt speech. Joss is unsure for a moment until she realizes that Calista’s most recent actions resulted in a missed visit with Harry. She eventually does meet with him. When that happens, Harry reveals that he made an offer on the house Joss loved.
Calista’s lawyer suggests they tell the truth about the plan to catch Luca cheating, but to then to throw Joss under the bus claiming she went rogue with the murder. As for Joss, she considers a plea deal. At least that will give her a shot at a life with Harry. David tries to talk her out of it, but to no avail. This move has a remorseful Calista claiming that she acted alone in killing her husband.
April receives reassurance from a therapist that her selflessness in bringing Marc and Scotty into Lucy’s life was good for her daughter. Speaking of Marc, he’s advised to tell April how he feels about her. So he asks her out on a date. Of course, April doesn’t see it that way. Their conversation is interrupted when a report of a strange man in April’s yard is received. The stranger is Ron, the new boyfriend of Mark’s sister, Miranda.
Miranda breaks the news that she and Ron are getting married. She’ll be taking Scotty with them as start a new life together in Vegas. Marc asks his sister to reconsider taking her son away. He wants Scotty to finish out the school year. April backs him up detailing how Marc has stepped up as a father. Miranda is not to be swayed. She reveals that Marc recently fell off the wagon.
Karen joins Vivian for a doctor’s appointment. The news isn’t great. Vivian’s liver is starting to fail. She may not have long to live. Karen agrees to keep Vivian’s relapse a secret from Alec until after he receives a prestigious award. The night of the big event arrives. Karen helps Vivian get prepped for the evening. Both ladies look beautiful. Vivian, however, can’t hide what’s happening to her any longer. She collapses to the floor. A panicked Karen and Alec rush to her side.
