A Not-So-Warm Military Welcome
When the team arrives at Bauer Army Medical Center, they're greeted by the veteran's furious military surgeon, Major Will Thorpe (guest star Scott Elrod), who believes they are just there to perform a showy experimental surgery, without regard for the patient's life. He mockingly calls them the "Dream Team" and refuses to be swayed by Bailey's diplomatic words. Finally, Callie steps up and passionately defends the team, informing Thorpe that his boss asked for their help because they ARE the Dream Team: "We are miracles workers. Now, the sooner you recognize that the sooner we can get to the business of saving a life."

Jackson Gets His Flirt On
While prepping the OR for the surgery, Captain Emily Vaughn (guest star Sarah Jane Morris) starts flirting with Jackson, revealing she Googled him, and requests to watch his bone graft retrieval. "You have a reputation for a much more refined approach," she tells him. He agrees to let her observe, and after she leaves, Jo starts teasing Jackson about flirting with Captain Vaughn. When he protests, Jo informs him, "You don't even have to say anything," and, waving a hand in his direction, says, "All of this is a flirt."

Meredith Pushes Callie to Be Better
Meredith has learned a lot about people after everything she's had to survive in the last year. From recovering emotionally after Derek's death, to the fight to recover physically after she was brutally attacked, Mer has realized that when people push you, they're trying to help you. So when Callie is pacing the halls outside the OR, panicking and unable to focus on how to save their patient after something goes drastically wrong during surgery, Meredith is there to push her to focus and to help her find a solution.

Meredith Takes a Leap
After working with the Grey Sloan Memorial "Dream Team," Major Thorpe has a new respect for their medical expertise and intentions. But one doctor in particular captured his attention... Meredith! As he walks her out, he admits he was wrong about her team, and tells Grey he'd like to "follow up" with her. He's clearly disappointed when she gives him the numbers for her service and the hospital, and says it was nice working with him. As they walk to the van, Jackson points out that Thorpe was flirting with her. Taken aback, she pauses to think, then hurries back to give Thorpe her number. Is Meredith finally ready to move on and start dating again?

Mean Girls: Grey's Anatomy Edition?
Edwards and Blake are gossiping and complaining that Jo and Ben get special treatment and the best surgeries because of who they're in relationships with, but suddenly realize they sound just like the group of teenage "mean girl" cheerleaders that flooded the ER earlier. Meanwhile, DeLuca, who's been pushing Maggie to tell everyone about their relationship, looks concerned. Maybe it's not such a great idea to go public with their relationship after all.

Maggie Takes Everyone to Awkward Town
Maggie definitely has a gift for making social situations uncomfortable, and when she decides on the spur of the moment to let everyone know she's dating DeLuca, it's "really hard to watch," as an amused Arizona informs her afterwards. When Dr. Riggs asks her if they can reschedule a procedure for later that night, she calls Andrew over to stand next to her before announcing that she can't make it, because she has plans: "...With Dr. DeLuca. A date! Whom I've been seeing. We've been seeing each other. As a couple. Romantically. In romance." Yep, that happened. Riggs, not sure what to make of the non sequitur, gives her a funny look and agrees not to reschedule.

No Special Treatment for Ben
Bailey is livid when she emerges from the long and stressful surgery at Bauer Army Medical Center to multiple messages informing her that one of her residents, her husband Ben(!), went rogue, ignoring all the rules, and made the extremely risky call to try to save a patient's life by cutting open the man's chest with a clipboard! As the Chief, Bailey is furious that Ben's arrogance put her in the position of having to discipline him, but as a fellow surgeon, she can't wait to hear all the details.
